Elan Troutman - Berkelee Graduate by way of Barbados (Boston, Ma.).
Art Sherrod - Md. Sax Sensation who's 2nd disc features Will Downing. (Baltimore, Md.).
Kenyon Carter - You have not heard of him - yet - but this Atlanta, Ga. certified music educator also has a sound that's smooth with a touch of pop and country. Kenyon Carter is a voice you will hear from very shortly.
Joey Sommerville - One of the great Trumpet and musical voices hailing out of Atlanta, Ga. Held down a music series at Sambuca, which featured artists such as Peter White, Gerald Albright and Phil Perry, to name a select few. Highly underrated! The man wears many hats and sometimes in order to keep the music flowing in Atlanta, that may also including Event Planner.
Ragan Whiteside - New York's own Classically trained on the flute, winner of the 2007 Capital Jazz Festival Award for New Artists. Working on her 2nd disc as you read (Mount Vernon, NY).
Toni Redd - Atlanta's homegrown soulful songstress who gets compared to Phyllis Hyman on a regular basis, however, make no mistake, she has her own sound!
Her 2nd disc "N The Key Of Redd" still gets critical acclaim. Go listen for yourself!

Ode to the Indie Page is a page you must not take lightly. They may open up for the established artist, but may take the audience by storm with their incredible talent, gift. In other words, just because they are not slgned to a major doesn't mean you should sleep on them. With the struggles that Indie Artists have at radio combined with reduced label roster slots, NewUrbanJazz looks to support these music underdogs. Trust us on this one, they are worth the time and attention.
