While 2011 has dealt the smooth jazz community another blow with Seattle's KWJZ flipping the format from SJ, there are now approximately less than 8 commercial smooth jazz stations nationwide.

NewUrbanJazz™ is expanding monthly (not limited to) 2-hour radio program that current airs on more than 20 terrestrial radio stations, expanding via the internet and through live music ve between the South, Northeast and out west, We have station coverage in 9 states including Mass., Wyoming, West Virginia, Hawaii, Alaska, and several stations in the southeast.
NewUrbanJazz™ is our own diverse brand of jazz, as diverse as the crowds we play for all over the world. While super-radio conglomerates are falling by the wayside, Jazz cats need to stop dummying down the genre of jazz because more than ever in these tough times, the universe is looking for something substantial from creative people, something we are all capable of delivering, that is, if we just push the envelope just a little harder, deeper and further in some deeper media arenas, some of which we are clearly overlooked.
People are already trying to emulate our sound, which we are truly honored, but there is only NewUrbanJazz™. Our sound is as unique as the original KFC recipe, or the iPod. We have our own vibe and we are here to stay. More importantly, several indie stations around the country are flipping to a funkier blend of contemporary jazz, which we are humbly honored to be a trend-setter in this arena."

NEWURBANJAZZ CONNECTS WITH ALL LISTENERS, WITH 20 TERRESTRIAL STATION AFFILIATES
NEW YORK, NY / NewUrbanJazz, along with the collaboration with the African-American Public Radio Consortium (AAPRC) has grown the listening base to 20 stations worldwide, from the rolling hills of West Virginia, to the funky music city vibes of Memphis, Tn., throughout North Carolina, Alabama and Tennesses, out west to Iowa and as far as Alaska.
